DPEA DISMISSES INFINERGY APPEAL!

On November 7, 2019 the DPEA dismissed Infinergy’s appeal and refused planning permission.

We are very grateful for this decision and wish to thank the various individuals, groups and organisations who assisted us in the campaign against a project which we felt was unsuitable for the location so close to our very precious Kyles of Bute National Scenic Area.

We should advise however that Infinergy has 6 weeks to lodge an appeal against the DPEA decision on a point(s) of law, accordingly the campaign to protect our communities is not over.   We must also appreciate that there may be other attempts in the future to develop windfarms in the same area – including the potential re-powering of Cruach Mor with monster turbines …. So we must remain vigilant and on guard for such possible developments.

We will keep you posted.

We have been campaigning for over a year against this monstrous project and we cannot thank you enough for your support to date – with over 600 local citizens signing objection letters and petitions.

We are also very grateful to the Argyll & Bute Planning Department which has recommended refusal, subject to a decision, by our councillors. But it’s not over yet …. and we would value your support at this meeting. Let’s stand strong together and protect our National Scenic Area for future generations.
